توصيف دوره درسياين دوره درس در جهت آشنايي دانشجويان با بعضي از مشارکت‌هاي يونان باستان با سنت فلسفي و علمي غرب است. ما زنجيره گسترده‌اي از مضامين بنيادي فلسفي را مورد آزمون قرار خواهيم داد از جمله؛ طبيعت، قانون، عدالت، دانش، شرافت، خوشبختي و مرگ. همچنين تأکيد زيادي بر تحليل‌هاي مباحث موجود در متن‌ها خواهيم داشت.
